March 2010 ART SHOW: Danielle DeRoberts & True Faith March 6 until March 27

Air Castle Gallery and Missing Piece Productions join forces to present the art and fashion of Danielle DeRoberts (AKA Onerary).
Opening Night 3/6/10 (ART):
“True Faith” conceptually focuses on the idea of staying true to one’s own path in life, and having confidence in the process of personal growth. DeRoberts combines painting with sewing in this collection of fabric paintings, consisting of friends and family who continue to inspire her. However, the paintings are also considered by the artist to all be self-portraits, as she sees herself as a reflection of every person in her life.
Closing Night 3/27/10 (FASHION):
“True Faith” is also an offspring of DeRobert's clothing line Onerary (http://www.onerary.com) 2010 fashion collection of the same name. Closing night of the Air Castle Gallery show features a fashion trunk show featuring Onerary designs for both men and women. Closing night also includes a cocktail bar and beauty raffle prizes from Benefit.
Inspired by the song True Faith by New Order:

In addition to the paintings, there will also be a limited fashion zine, which will preview onerary's next collection. Also showcasing a short video for onerary.

"The two things that make Boogie Birds special are their size and how they are created, in this case using aerosol paint, the kind usually reserved for huge canvases or expansive outdoor spaces. At two inches by two inches (in most cases), these round little avifauna are perhaps the smallest precision paintings done with spray paint anywhere in the world today."
